I buy only one thing in large size in my home- it’s the traditional oats! I eat oats for breakfast from Monday to Saturday- in the winters, I love warm oatmeal, and in the summer, I’m all about cold overnight oats.
So here’s how to cook this easy dish recipe. And you’ll never again face the dilemma of what to have for a healthy breakfast!
The Healthiest Oatmeal Recipes
Maple Brown Sugar
This is a traditional flavour most oatmeals come in. But the homemade brown sugar with maple is so much better. I make it with maple syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon and pecans.
Banana Nut
This is the second one of the classic oatmeal flavours in packaging, so I love making it with actual fresh bananas. I often slice half a banana, ground flaxseeds, add walnuts and cinnamon.
Chocolate Peanut Butter
This one for the children. And who am I joking? When the oatmeal is still hot, I stir in cacao and cocoa powder and keep stirring till the mixture looks creamy. Then decorate the oatmeal with chocolate chips, and add a tablespoon of peanut butter along with fried peanuts on the top. Almost all the kids devour this, and it’s a bit on the tasty side of healthy, however still goof for you.
Strawberry & Cream
This is such a delicious combination. Just add fresh sliced strawberries, coconut cream or a splash of half and half, or any non-dairy creamer, along with some maple syrup or honey and a spoon of vanilla extract.
