Manchester United (2) vs Brighton (1): Match Report and Analysis

An 83rd-minute goal from Mason Greenwood helped Manchester United to complete the fightback against Brighton. As a result, the Manchester side is now sitting comfortably in 2nd place in the PL table. On the other hand, Brighton is still battling to stay clear from the relegation zone at 16th place.

The Seagulls started the first half with a strong display, and Danny Welbeck scored the first goal of the match in the 13th minute. Moreover, Solksjaer’s team looked weak while attacking and didn’t register a single shot on target in the first 45 minutes.

In the second half, Ole expected a better response and another fightback from his team. As a result, Marcus Rashford didn’t disappoint his manager and scored his 19th goal of the season. From here, the Manchester side looked much sharper on the ball and almost broke the deadlock multiple times.

Consequently, in the 83rd minute, Mason Greenwood scored the second goal for his team through Paul Pogba’s mis-hit. This result came as a relief for Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, and now his side is pretty comfortable in the second position. But, with this loss, things are looking complicated again for Graham Potter as his side is only 6 points clear of the relegation zone.
