Five people are under arrest over the violent theft of Lady Gaga’s two French bulldogs.
In February, the attackers shot Ryan Fischer, the dog walker, in the chest and took Lady Gaga’s pets. Koji and Gustav are the names of the artist’s Frech breed bulldogs.
Mr Fischer survived the attack, but he had to have a part of his lung removed. Moreover, he had since left the hospital.
Los Angeles police, on Thursday, announced they had charged three suspects for the incident itself. Additionally, the two others as accomplices for the same.
James Jackson, 18, Jaylin White, 19, and Lafayette Whaley, 27, have been charged with attempted murder and robbery.
Also, Harlod White, 40, Jaylin’s father and Jennifer McBride, 50, are charged with attempted murder.
Ms McBride returned the dogs two days after the theft to the police. It was after Lady Gaga had offered a $500,000 (£359,000) compensation for their recovery.
A police press release said detectives were able to ascertain a relationship between her and Mr Harlod White. All four men charged were documented gang members, the release added without giving further details.
Police said they were unaware that Mr Fischer worked for Lady Gaga when they attacked him.
But evidence suggested that they were aware of the value of the breed of dogs. Thus it can be said it was the motivation for their robbery.
When the attackers pulled up in a car, Mr Fischers was walking the three dogs in a residential area of Hollywood.
He was shot in the bosom with a semi-automatic handgun. Along with it, out of three, two of the dogs were robbed. However, another of Lady Gaga’s French bulldog, Asia, was left unharmed in the incident.
Mr Fischer later described Asia as his guardian angel, saying that Asia gave him the determination to survive.
In an Instagram post in March, Mr Ryan said his panic screams calmed as he looked at her. He then added, even though it registered that the blood pooling her tiny body was his.
He cradled Asia as best as he could, apologised for not being able to save her brothers. Lastly, he added that he resolved that he would still try to protect them and himself.
