LG is improving its technology to create the next bendable display for its mobile phones. At this time, it is launching its next bendable display. This phone will be debuted at the 2021 event of CES. In a large 48-inch size, the company will flaunt its first OLED display for that size.
Primarily, the screen is designed for gaming. To provide an immersive gaming experience, the curvature is particularly designed by experts. The company says that OLED technology has permitted the display of the device to become paper-like thin while also providing a bending capacity with maximum curvature of 1000R. In layman’s terms, it means that the display of the device has a bending capacity of a maximum radius of 1000 mm.
The purpose of making this type of design is that the screen could be made flat for viewing TV or watching movies so that many people could watch the screen from any viewing angle. If a person desires to play a game, they can instantly curve the screen to see the display from a viewing angle of their choice. This will help in creating a perfect viewing experience for one viewer who is viewing the screen from one position.
A virtual event will be conducted at CES ‘21 by LG where the company will be showing off its new display. This year, the company has planned on hosting virtual events, unlike the regular in-person events which are attended by thousands of tech enthusiasts, journalists, and companies, in a big convention center. These online events will ensure the safety and comfort of the audience especially at the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. At this event, not only will the company flaunt its new curved OLED display, but it would also talk about its mini-LED TV series which will feature improved black levels with more precise backlighting, and increased generalized brightness of the screen.
