A French actress protested naked at César Awards ruled by demands the government to do support culture more during the COVID pandemic.
Corinne Masiero was wearing a donkey costume over a dress stained with blood. Before shredding on the stage at France’s equivalent of the Oscars. Corinne is at the time 57 years old.
Moreover, cinemas in France are shut for more than three months.
The best film award at the event went to Albert Dupontel’s dark comedy Adieu Les Cons. The title translated in English means Goodbye Morons. Moreover, the movie won seven Césars, along with one of the best directors.
The film depicts a desperate search by a seriously ill woman for her child.
The best foreign film award went to Denmark’s Another Round. It’s a movie directed by Thomas Vinterberg. The movie is about a group of friends who try to improve their lives by keeping a constant alcohol level in their blood.
Masiero’s award acceptance
Masiero was invited to Friday’s event, which was held keeping in mind the social distancing. She was to get the award for the best costume.
But she shook those present in the concert hall by stripping naked on the stage. The stripping was to show a message written on her torso ‘No culture, no future’ written over her torso.
And appealing directly to French Prime Minister Jean Castex. Along with it, Corinne has another message written on her back saying, ‘Give us back art, Jean.’
Other directors and actors were asking for the same demand as well.
