The California Department of Public Health released data on Friday according to which their teams are far behind the decided schedule for the mass vaccination plan of the state. Currently, only approximately 650,000 vaccines are injected to save the residents of the state from the ongoing pandemic. A total of roughly 2 million doses have been already distributed in the state.
The officers in the state are now working for expanding access as they are been heavily criticized. The next 2 tiers from the list of eligible recipients are now getting offered vaccines by the officials. This means that the state has moved beyond the process of vaccinating the wide range of healthcare workers and the staff of hospitals, dental clinics, specialty clinics, and pharmacies.
By the next week, the dentists in the state will receive an online training course of 4-hours length through which they will learn the process of administering the vaccination shot to the patient.
At the same time, the President-elect of the USA Joe Biden said that his team would be releasing almost every available shot of vaccine available for the country when he takes the sacred oath in the second part of this month. He ensured that his team will not hold back the supplies to provide a second dose to the same patients.
As of now, the United States has approved the vaccines by Moderna and Pfizer.
Currently, the residents of long-term facilities are being provided vaccines along with the workers in the healthcare industry. There are three tiers in Phase 1A. Depending on demand and local supply, the counties are vaccinating people at different speeds.
The second phase, i.e. Phase 1B will begin in the first half of February 2021.
