On November 5, 2020, Apple released iOS 14.2 for iPhones. This update moved the music discovery application Shazam from its original place in the Control Center. Additionally, 100 new emojis have been added through this update. The new location of the Shazam app will increase the accessibility of the app for knowing the name of the song that the users suddenly hear on the radio or at a party.
For users who are wondering about the sudden attention received by Shazam, it is important to know that the app isn’t an exception. Back in 2017, Apple officially purchased Shazam from its then-owners for $400 million. This is the reason why Shazam is suddenly receiving this special treatment.
The update iOS 14.2 was launched for iPhones initially, but it was immediately followed by updates for tvOS, watchOS, and iPadOS. However, the next update iOS 14.2.1 was exclusively released for specific models of iPhone. These were iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone Pro, and iPhone 12.
For locating the update, users can click on the Settings icon on the Homepage, followed by General>Software Update. This update removes the bug that stopped some MMS messages, from reaching the users. It also works on the sound clarity concerns of ‘Made for iPhone’ (MFi) hearing devices. These problems usually occurred while listening to any audio on the iPhone. The update also kills another bug which was found in iPhone 12 mini. This bug made the Lock Screens of many phones unresponsive.
