A volcano exploded near Iceland’s capital Reykjavik this Friday, and the volcano started exploding lava into the night sky after several earthquakes in the last few months.

A volcano has erupted south-west of Iceland’s capital Reykjavik, the country’s meteorological workplace says.

It says the area is about 500- 700 meters long (1,640-2,300ft) at Fagradalsfjall on Reykjanes peninsula. The last explosion occurred about 800 years ago.
