Trump Administration faces a stern rebuttal from the Federal Judge in DACA Hearing

A New York Judge responsible for ruling out the validity of DACA rules during the weekend lashed out at the trump administration for mishandling the program and dubbed the latest actions of the government as despicable use of power.

Judge Nicholas Garaufis expressed his grievances about not having a proper legal system in place and stated that the inappropriate actions of the government are impacting the lives of many people who were buoyed by Supreme Court’s June Decision and undermined by the Homeland Security Department’s conduct.

On Saturday, the judge ruled that Chad Wolf was serving as a secretory of Homeland Security unlawfully when he signed rules restricting the renewals and applications for the Deferred Actions for Childhood Arrival programs (DACA) but those rules are no longer valid.

In July, a memo was issued by Wolf that stated that the new applications for the Obama-era program DACA that cocooned the undocumented immigrants who entered US as children, from deportation would no longer be accepted and renewables will be restricted to one year instead of two years.

The ruling was a major setback for the Trump administration.  Even though, Donald Trump successfully established several immigration limits, he has failed to take down the eight-year old DACA program.

In 2017, an attempt to end the DACA program was thwarted by US Supreme Court.  The memo quashed during the weekend had asked for some time while the administration was contemplating over the next steps.

Garaufis fired fresh salvos on the administration whose attempts were to breach the Supreme Court order that blocked Trump government’s attempt to end the DACA. He said that he was utterly sad about how the mishandling led to the inaccessibility of protections to the DACA recipients.
