Prince Harry has been selected as chief impact officer at BetterUp. There he will have to input into things such as product plan decisions and charitable giving. Additionally, he will have to speak publicly about topics linked to mental health.
BetterUp is a company founded in 2013. The company provides mobile-based professional coaching, mentorship, and counselling.
Prince Harry’s statement
In a statement, Prince Harry said he was really excited to take up the role. Also, his goal as its first chief impact officer was to lift critical dialogues around mental health. Moreover, making supportive and humane societies and foster an environment for vulnerable and yet honest talks.
He said he would be focusing on driving information and aid for mental fitness. Guiding the company’s mission and growing its global community.
Moreover, he added that self-optimism is not about mending something that is broken. It is more about becoming the best versions of ourselves, with whatever life throws at us.
The organisation’s website had described Harry as a philanthropic, military vet, environmentalist, and mental health advocate.
The website outline also cited his work as founder of The Invictus Games. The sport is an event for injured or wounded service members.
Harry and his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, announced that they were stepping back from royal duties in January 2020. They were to move across the Atlantic.
Last month Buckingham Palace declared that they had left the royal family for good. Moreover, affirming that they will not return to the royal family as their working members. Additionally, they would lose their patronages.
